The Flood of 2018
The Ohio River has been above flood stage (52 feet) for the last eleven days.
The river crested on Sunday, February 25 at 60.53 feet.
National Weather Service records show the Ohio River at Cincinnati
had previously risen higher than 60 feet 22 times since the agency began keeping records.
This new level would rank 22nd.
February will go down in history as Cincinnati's third wettest February with 7.79 inches of precipitation as measured at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Saturday's deluge that broke the river also broke maximum rainfall records for February 24.
The 2.26 inches of rain beat the old record of 1.37 inches of rain set in 2011,
according to the National Weather Service.
Before the rain began to fall, the temperature on Tuesday, February 20 was 79 degrees,
beating the old record of 72 that was set in 2016.
I walked out back to see the flooding of our wet weather creek.
I took pictures, but not knowing how dry the area normally is,
the pictures don't show much...
