Looking for Spring

I took a walk out back to look for signs of Spring.

The snow flowers have poked their heads above the soil.

We have had 2 1/2 inches of rain in February so far, twice the normal amount, with more rain in tomorrow's forcast. (February's total rainfall was 5 3/4", normal is 2 3/4".)
Can you identify the foot prints?

The daffodils are beginning to come up. And I found another antler!
No, Leon, this antler is mine.
I, too, have grandchildren! :-)

Projects...
I had an assignment that involved a Brownie vest and a handful of badges.
Never mind that the owner of the vest was busy earning yet another 'Thinking' badge while I was busy sewing on the others!

We are not sure why it is called the 'Thinking' badge.

Each troop is assigned a country. The troops met at an area high school where they sold items and had their passports stamped as they traveled from country to country.

K.K.'s country was Spain. Her troop made small and large fans which they sold for 25 cents and 50 cents.

Here is the Spanish lady dressed and ready for the adventures that await her.

What a pretty shawl you have, Senorita!

Happy President's Day

We had some warmer weather last week.

We walked out back and picked up branches that had been blown out of the trees.

In amongst the branches, I found an antler!

We gave this one to a friend who has the other one we found. He plans to post them at the entrance to his 'garden.'

The warm weather convinced me it was time to plant some tomato seeds.

Friday, we attended the National Farm Machinery Show. What a crowd! FFA youngsters, oldsters, little families, people examining all the displays!

After we walked for as long as we could and gathered as many freebies as we could, we visited the Little People. It was a gorgeous spring afternoon!

We pushed Little Miss El on her swing and caught her at the end of the slide. The big kids rode their bikes two houses down before turning around.

Weather, whether we like it or not!

In the last couple of weeks, we have had snow.
We have had ice.
And, we have had wind!
We have had a good 18 inches of snow above the average for this time of year.
Looks like Global Warming is here!

Go Steelers!
