Friday: on the way to Oberammergau

Friday we traveled west, passing some scenic lakes, strawberry fields and houses and barns combined as one building.

We stopped at an autobahn to purchase lunch... and what to our surprise? A couple of young men were handing out free alcohol-free Warsteiners. Well, we had to sample the wares. Well, some of us were unsure and had to have a couple of samples...Here are Ed and Maisy.
And the verdict is?

The blue-green water in the fountain is glacial water. Some of us tried unsuccessfully to cool our warm Warsteiners in the water.

The 'farmers' in our group decided the implement to the right was a potato digger.

A Benedictine Monastery built between 1330 and 1370.

Our hotel with the lovely geraniums in the windowboxes.

We took a walk after dinner on the gravel bike path along a small stream and found these goats and ducks. There might have even been an escapee.

There was a small castle hidden amoung the trees.

We shared our balcony with Ruth and Joan after dinner. And where are those Warsteiner's Joan?
