National Farm Machinery Show
The NFMS was held at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
The farm equipment on display was bigger than most people's homes!
And crowded?!?
Yikes!

The NFMS gave us an excuse to visit our grandchildren.
Friday evening, we enjoyed the fish fry at the children's school.
Fish sandwiches, shrimp, mac'n cheese, pizza, tasty onion rings, french fries,
cole slaw, drinks and the spiciest green beans I have ever eaten! Oh, and
dessert, if you still have room.

K.K. got up early Saturday morning;
the Girl Scouts were having their yearly 'Thinking Day' at one of the participating schools.

Girl Scouts manned booths that featured different countries.
Each booth had things to buy from that country.
K.K. was going as a 'regular kid' today.
Eating breakfast,
and ready to go.

Oh, and did I mention that I received an unusual Valentine's Day present?
Perhaps it wasn't a Valentine's Day present,
but it arrived on Valentine's Day.
Four one-pound packages of freshly ground beef!
One package has been thawed and made into sloppy joes.
Yummmmm!

Can Spring be Far Behind?
Last weekend, the sun was shining and the temperatures were in the low 50's. A nice day for a walk.
There were definitely signs of Spring.
My walk took me along the side of our road.
Yikes!
Enough recyclables to almost fill the bin!
The aluminum cans will be recycled for money.

A Surprise Visit
Got an e-mail from my cousin, Rick. He would be in town for a business meeting.
Would we like to meet him for dinner?

How can you say 'No' to an offer like that?
Rick and I have been working on some common genealogy,
so I decided to take pictures our paternal grandmother had sent over the years to her niece in Germany.

The son of the niece, our second cousin, had sent the pictures back to me a couple of years ago.
There were some pictures that I was sure Rick would like.
Besides, eating with two engineers, I knew what the dinner conversation would be like!

Did I mention that Rick is from Texas?
He brought us a day filled with sunshine and temperatures warm enough to melt the residual snow.
He said it was cold and was glad to return to the warmer temperatures of Texas.

Cold Weather
We woke Friday morning to single digits....
The barometer was rising; the sun was shining,
but, more snow was on the way.
Yikes!
Thursday evening, we watched traffic slip - slide up the hill.
What a mess!
The snow started falling again early Saturday morning.
The salt trucks came out and by 11:00, the roads were just wet.
We've had snow flurries off and on all day.
We're under a snow advisory until 7:00 Sunday morning.
We'll not get the three inches forecast.
