Today we each had a pass to visit any of the five museums on nearby Museum Island. We went as a group to the Pergamon Museum, then to the Egyptian Museum, then to the Bode Museum.

The Pergamon Museum

The Telephos Frieze depicts the life story of the hero Telephos, the mythical ancestor of the royal house of Pergamon. The life of Telephos is recounted in chronological scenes. The work on the frieze began in 165 BC.
Pergamon came under Roman control in 133 B.C. Under the Romans, it became a prosperous industrial and educational center.
The frieze extended around the exhibition room.

There were many examples of inticate mosaic flooring and architecture from that era.

The Egyptian Museum
The home of the famous Nefertiti.

The Bode Museum contained Renaissance church alters, artifacts and paintings.
