March Birthday

The day started with the delivery of a birthday bouquet of tulips
from our Connecticut daughter and son-in-law.

In the afternoon, we met the grandchildren and their mother for a birthday dinner
at Golden Corral.
All you care to eat...
And chocolate for dessert.
Oh, and carrot cake for the moms. Ummmm...

We didn't have the traditional birthday pumpkin pie for dessert.
Next week....

Happy Birthday to you!

Spring is Just Around the Corner....

There is chilly weather today; cloudy, temperatures in the low 30's.
The snow remains south of us.

Snow flowers out in the back yard.

Daffodils poking their heads above the ground.
Spring is just around the corner!

March Snow

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.... we can hope!

The snow and ice storm that blanketed the region Sunday, March 2, and early Monday
dumped another 2.2 inches of snow in the area,
keeping this the fourth snowiest winter on record.

So far, 45.8 inches of snow have been recorded.
The all-time snowiest winter remains the winter of '77-'78 when 53.9" of snow fell,
followed by the winter of '76-'77 when 47.3" of snow were recorded.
In third place is the 46.3" of snow reported in 1950-1951.

There are still another 16 days until the first day of spring, March 20.
