50th High School Class Reunion
Friday evening, the graduating classes of 1961 and 1962 had a casual picnic.
Sloppy Joes, chips, assorted salads and cake, for dessert.
Soft drinks and water.

Saturday was the formal dinner. Each graduating class had +/- fifty members. Each reunion is a reunion of graduating classes from 1936 to 1970. In the fall of 1970, the Braceville Local Schools combined with the Leavittsburg Local Schools to form LeBra Local Schools.

Swimming Fun
I was invited to accompany the not-so Little People and their mother
to visit with Uncle Walter and Aunt B. And to swim in their pool.
Look at all the fun 'floats.'
The big float was the most popular as someone was always falling into the water!
Then, time for a snack.
Checking the drain, early in the morning.
No frogs.
Looking for frogs in the pond.
Uncle Walter took us geocaching at a Stark County park.
We walked along the bike path that follows the Ohio and Erie Canalway.
"Don't follow me into the woods... there's poison ivy," said Uncle Walter.
The first 'find.'
Uncle Walter signed the log book. The children examined all the treasures.
The Tuscarawas River was used to fill/empty the canal.
Uncle Walter lost his glasses on this find...
Noah's sharp eyes - and the fact that he disregarded the warning about poison ivy - found this cache.
We had walked and walked along the bike path... fortunately, SOMEone was carrying a big bottle of water.
The ice cream shop was closer than Mom's car; we had Mom's phone and she was with Little Miss El back at the car. All we could do was walk ALL THE WAY BACK to the car, then DRIVE to the ice-cream shop.

Later, we relaxed by the pool.
Aunt B. picked some roses so we could enjoy the aromas. Little Miss El 'decorated' Mom with the roses.

Rain
Rain, we had rain Saturday afternoon!
We are 5 1/2 inches below the 'average' amount of rain for this time of year.
We'll take the four tenths of an inch!

We were invited to Ed's 4th annual 'Aren't You Retired Yet?' party Saturday evening. Ed keeps retiring, then returning to work.... he plans to retire at the end of December. I said to Margaret, "I'll talk to you in January!"
Margaret gave me three of the sunflowers that had been centerpieces on the tables.

"Cow Appreciation Days"
Friday, July 13, is 'Cow Appreciation Days' at Chick-fil-A. The wearers of a 'cow costume' receive a free chicken sandwich...
SOMEbody remembered that we had cow T-shirts from many sizes ago.
How could we go wrong?
Not quite a costume, but close enough to get our free sandwiches....

Unusual Weather
Yesterday, Friday, July 6, our area set a new record for the high temperature.
Officially, the high temperature was 104 degrees.
These are 'unofficial' temperatures.
The electricity had been off for two hours.... it came back on about 5:15.
Kroger stores in the area are dimming the lights by 33% while the unseasonable temperatures continue.
Temperatures remain 20 degrees above 'normal' for this time of the year.
Not to mention that we are 4 1/2 inches below the normal amount of rain for this time of the year...
Local farmers reported that their corn tasseled out on June 23, the earliest in memory.

Friendship Concert
We went to the Fitton Center to hear groups from the World Choir Games sing in a community Friendship Concert. The concert included the Young Adelaide Voices from Australia; the Rockford Aces from the U.S.; the LVPA Touring Choir from the U.S.; and the Orfeon Juan Bautista Plaza choir from Venezuela. They were scheduled to sing on the front steps.
Because of the heat and lack of shade, the concert was moved into the small theater indoors. We arrived to find the theater filled; more than 50 of us sat in the foyer to listen to the choirs.
The Young Adelaide Voices sang, "Waltzing Matilda."
The city of Hamilton is known as the 'City of Sculpture.' This sculpture is outside the Fitton Center.

Thursdays, through September, classic cars return to Bridgewater Falls.

Grand Canyon Trip
Airport fun.
The 'Little People' accompanied their parents to Las Vegas, where their father had a conference.

Glad to see that everyone has on sunglasses!
Noah played on the Diamond Backs Team this year.
A trip to the stadium with the purchase of appropriate gear was in order.
