Rain, Rain, Go Away
The garden is finally plowed.
During the first ten days of May, we have had 2.74 inches of rain. The normal month to date rainfall is 1.41 inches.
We had a downpour this afternoon that is not included in the 2.74 inches.
Friday's downpour brought an additional 1.13 inches of rain.
New totals: month to date - 3.87 inches; normal month to date - 1.57 inches.
The irises are enjoying the rain
as is the spirea.

Two young men stopped by one afternoon with an offer to cut down a dead tree
in the yard. An offer that couldn't be resisted.
There are wires close by, so the felling of the tree would be tricky.
One young man cut, the John Deere was ready to pull it over.
The last log was rolled onto the 'stone boat' and dragged out back.
