The tree and the little bird
There was a pine tree at the south west corner of our house that we had talked about taking down.
It was partly alive, but dead enough that a strong wind would have toppled it onto the roof.
It was partly alive, but dead enough that a strong wind would have toppled it onto the roof.
The Everest boys stopped by. "We'll take that tree down for you," they said.
John negotiated a price with them.
The tree came down.
What a mess!
While we cleaned up the branches and limbs, the mother bird sat on the roof
and yelled at us!
"Chirp! Chirp, Chirp! Chirp, Chirp, Chirp!"
We got most of the loose branches hauled away.
Only then, did we discover the mother bird and her baby
camped out underneath a near-by Buckeye tree...
No wonder the mother bird was furious with us!
