February Weather Report
The month of February was one of the coldest on record in south-west Ohio, with an average temperature of 23 degrees, according to data provided by the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
February came with four subzero temperature days and 18.6 inches of snow.
The average temperature of 23 degrees was 11 1/2 degrees below a normal February average of 34 1/2 degrees.
This makes February 2015 the fourth-coldest on record; the coldest February since 2007 when the average temperature was 22.7 degrees. The coldest February on record was in 1978, when the average temperature was 18.2 degrees.
The area also had four days of subzero temperatures - the fifth most subzero days for this area. That is the most subzero days since 1979, when the area set an all-time record of seven days below zero.
This area also received 18.6 inches of snow in February - a 12.1 inch increase over the monthly February average of 6.5 inches. February's snowfall ranks as the fifth-most in the city's history and the most since a record 26.1 inches fell in 2010.
