Brrrr....II

During the second week of January, 'normal' temperatures prevailed. Tuesday, January 14, was warm enough (temperatures in the mid 50's) for me to put on a sweatshirt and clean up the trash/recyclables along our road.

This week, temperatures have plunged and snow has fallen. A record amount of snow fell on Tuesday, January 21. A total of 5.3 inches of snow was recorded at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. The previous record for this date was 3.8 inches which was set in 2007.

With Tuesday's snowfall, a total of 27.7 inches of snow has been recorded this winter at CVG. The normal snowfall for the season by January 21 is 9.5 inches and the typical winter here receives 22.1 inches.
We still have day time temperatures in the mid-teens; night temperatures in the single digits, threatening to go below zero.
Brrrrr.....
