Brrrr...

First the snow, then the Minnesotian cold temperatures!

We woke this morning to temperatures in the sub-zeros. Minus 4, the thermometer said. Today and tomorrow will give this area some of the coldest temperatures experienced since the first week of January 1994. Wind chill, with wind gusts up to 35 miles an hour, could make the great outdoors feel as if the temperatures were as low as 35 degrees below zero. A wind chill warning is in effect for most of the region from 4 a.m. today (Monday) to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

So far, this fall-winter period has produced 17 inches of snow, according to figures at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Most winters the area receives a total of 22.1 inches of snow....

Speaking of CVG, our Friday flight routed through Houston on the way to Ixtapa, Mexico was canceled. The alternate flight we could have taken early (6 a.m.) Sunday morning, going through Chicago, was also canceled...

Tuesday, the weather will begin to warm with a high around 9 degrees. For this time of year, the normal high is 39 degrees. The normal low is 23 degrees. Yes, it is a bit chilly!
