Welcome Kelsey Campers

Six bicycling couples meet at the Greene County Fairgrounds in September to ride the Miami Valley Bikeways.

The Ohio-to-Erie Trail, the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the Creekside Trail that goes to Dayton and the Xenia - Jamestown Connector all meet in Xenia.

Xenia - the Hub of it All.

Thursday morning, we started our early. We were on our own adventure to check out the Blueberry Cafe in Bellbrook. We headed south on the Little Miami Trail, then cut across country on Lower Bellbrook Road.
We rode up a hill out of the Little Miami River Valley - much like the hills I had ridden on the MS ride. Needless to say, we returned using a different, more rolling route!

I had scrambled eggs with swirly rye toast, artistically arranged. The leader of the adventure had biscuits and gravy.
We stopped to visit some friends who live in the Wright Estates, but as per usual, they weren't home. We left them a message.

Friday promised rain - sometime during the day/or all day. Once again, we started out early, this time with our friend, Ron. Ron's plan was to ride the Little Miami Trail north to Urbana - an almost 70 mile round trip. We rode with him as far as Springfield, watching the skies the whole way. At Springfield, we turned around,  stopping at Young's Jersey Dairy hoping to meet up with the rest of the crew. We were too early, and the dark clouds were rolling in, so we headed home.
As it turned out, there was next to no rain, but much cooler temperatures. The rest of the crew DROVE up to Young's for lunch. Good Grief!

The 'boys' studying the A-Liner.
How DO they get everything in there?!?

Saturday, the crew decided to DRIVE to Lebanon for the Shriners' parade.
The weather was chilly as we headed west on the Creekside Trail towards Dayton.

We stopped at the Beavercreek Station before returning to Xenia.
Check out 'Bicycle Beaver.'
Xenia was hosting a street fair. Years ago, the street fair was called "Old Timers Days" with lots of antique machinery, bean soup and corn bread, arts and crafts.
The one redeeming feature of this years street fair was the bicycle rodeo and the helmets that were being given to the participants.

Saturday evening, the gals got together to prepare an Italian dinner extra-ordinaire! Spaghetti, assorted meat sauces with/without meatballs and sausage, salads. Oh, and pies and strawberry shortcake.

Sunday was still chilly, but the sun promised warmer weather. It was time for us to head on home.
A nice outing with friends, bicycles and good times.
