Venture the Valley

Venture the Valley is a bicycle ride that raises funds for client programs and services, research and advocacy for the local M.S. Society. The two day event starts and ends at Camp Kern.
Saturday morning was surprisingly cool as the almost 960 riders lined up for the start of the ride. Riders could choose routes of 25, 50 or 75 miles each day.
I met up with my friends Ron and Lee; all planning to ride the longest route. That changed at the lunch stop at Stonelick Lake, when Lee and I decided to ride the 50 mile route.
Team CCC's tent, where team members could hang out in the shade after the ride.

Sunday, the boys and I opted for the 50 mile route going north around Caesars Creek Reservoir, knowing that the weather would be much warmer. Good choice, as we rode over several miles of roads recently covered with 'chip and seal.' Bicyclists other than Ron had flat tires!

The photographer was sitting at the top of the last hill, as riders climbed out of the Little Miami River Valley. He took pictures only of the riders who climbed the hill!
"A piece of cake!" the photographer said!
I got my picture taken!

Thank you very much to all of you who sponsored me!
