Snow Adventures

We had a surprise visit from the little people and their mom last weekend. Because of the snow then ice that fell last Tuesday, a number of Kentucky residents were without electricity. Their electricity went out early Wednesday morning during the ice storm. They drove up Friday afternoon for a visit.

In the box of General Mills 'treats' from Uncle Fred was a box of 'cookie-brownies' that I baked for dessert Friday evening. To not get the children exicted about dessert, I said quietly that I had baked, and then I spelled 'cookie-brownies.' No sooner were the letters out of my mouth, when Little Miss K.K. announced, "I love cookie-brownies! Well, I love cookies and I love brownies, so I guess I love cookie-brownies!"
Yikes! Where did that come from?!?

Saturday afternoon, Grandpa took us for a ride on the lift behind his Oliver to see how sparkly the ice was on the trees and bushes. We rode around the yard, but it was prettiest out in the back where we rode through the 'tunnels' made by the ice laden boughs.

'El' loves her bouncy seat!

Sunday morning, I was greeted with, "You missed all the excitement last night!" Our electricity was out for two hours!
After breakfast, K.K. constructed Noah super hero costumes.
Look at that face on Super Man!

Their electricity came back on Sunday afternoon.
So ends the 'snow adventures' for the weekend!

This afternoon we had another 4"-6" of snow about the time the junior schools would be dismissing. The hill just south of us looked like a bowling alley, with cars skidding off to the side both north and south bound.
