As requested... directions for a tea towel bib

We were at a craft show about six years ago. One of the booths had bibs made from seasonal tea towels and rib knit trim. I enjoy sewing, so I looked more closely at the bibs. Since that time, I've sewen about a half dozen of these bibs.

Here is a tea towel and a 3" X 15" piece of rib knit trim.

The circle cut has roughly a 6" diameter. There are lots of plastic lids with this diameter that can be used to trace around.

Put four straight pins around the edge of the circle so the circle is divided into four equal parts.

Sew the three inch edges of the rib knit trim together 1/4" from the edge using a straight seam. Finger press the seam open and fold the rib knit trim in half so the seam edges are touching.

Put four straight pins around the outside edge of the rib knit trim so it is divided into four equal parts.

Match the pins in the rib knit trim with the pins in the towel, placing the seam in the middle of the back. Carefully stretch the rib knit trim to match the towel, placing straight pins to keep the trim and towel in place.
Using a zig-zag stitch, carefully stitch 1/4" from the edge with the rib knit trim on the top starting and ending in the back. Stretch the rib knit trim and the towel to match while sewing.

Voila!

Now how easy is that?

Comments:
What if they have a big head?

Sewing a tea towel bib is not an exact science: unlike using a .45 to put a couple of holes through the length of a 14" X 48" free styrofoam block.
