Southwestern Ohio Antique Tractor and Power Association

The 25th Annual Southwestern Ohio Antique Tractor and Power Association featured McCormick-Deering Farmall tractors.

The temperatures were in the high 50's as we perused the displays.

Some one has way too much time on his hands.

The Pony that got away...

In 1848, John Nichols built a blacksmith shop in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he manufactured several implements. In the 1850's he built his first threshing machine with David Shepard as a partner. The Nichols-Shepard Co. produced steam traction engines and a 35-70 H.P. "Oil Gas" tractor. The merger in April, 1929 with Oliver Chilled Plow Works located in South Bend, Indiana; Hart-Parr Company located in Charles City, Iowa and The American Seeding Company located in Springfield, Ohio ended the production of Nichols-Shepard tractors. The new company was called The Oliver Farm Equipment Company.

Folks enjoyed riding around the fairgrounds in this wagon.

Here is a trailer of child-sized tractors. What a surprise to see a Caterpillar earth mover with the John Deere tractors.
