The 'perfect' Christmas tree...for us





We were on a search for
a tree full and fat,
straight, green and tall,
with oodles of needles
and crannies and nooks
for us to hang
our tree things by hooks.





We drove to our neighbor's nursery to see what he'd got,
What might we find in his Christmas tree lot?
Few trees were left; we saw at first sight.
But, we were sure that one tree for us would be just right.





We looked and we looked and what did we find?
It wasn't too tall; but we didn't mind.
It had oodles of needles and crannies and nooks
For us to hang our tree things by hooks.





We loaded the tree and took it on home,
Anxious to hang our tree things by hooks
In the oodles of needles and crannies and nooks...
