Grandparents' Day

Remember when you were in elementary school?
Remember Grandparents' Day?
Remember when your children were in elementary school?
Remember when they had Grandparents' Day?
Me neither...

The gym at St. Aloysuis is all set for  Grandparents' Day.

We took a tour of the primary classrooms.
Kaitlyn painted the Eagle as a present to the school from the Class of 2016.
St. Aloysius Eagles.
Classmates names are on the wing of the eagle.
The class of 2014 presented a bench which is situated below the picture.

We arrived at Ellie's class.
She and the paternal g'parents were making as many words as possible from
the word 'grandparents.'

The grandfathers watching...

I helped with a fill-in-the-blank using nouns, adjectives and adverbs.
It was a story about swimming, shopping and grilling hot dogs with grandparents.

The grandparents returned to the gym for donuts and coffee/juice.
And entertainment.
Each class sang a song.

The third graders sang 'Dynomite!'

Each table had a gigantic mum in the middle.
The parent whose plate had an 'X' on the bottom, took the mum home.
Grandparents' Day was a well-planned event.
Thank you parents, thank you teachers for a nice tribute to the grandparents.

Jan's Birthday

We met Jan and her family at the El Nopal for a birthday luncheon.

After eating, the staff sang 'happy birthday' to Jan.

Her sombrero was hiding something....

whipped cream all over her face!
That's never happened before!
She shared her more than adequate birthday dessert with us...

An 'in action' photo of the rest of her family..

Happy Birthday, Jan!
