Anniversary

Today is our 49th anniversary.
Where has the time gone?!?
We saw Star Wars and enjoyed lunch at Smokey Bones,
with chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.
Yummmm....

Christmas

And who is that sitting amongst the presents? Olaf?

While their mother and I tidied up the kitchen somewhat, 'helpers' were
busy distributing the presents.

I volunteer at the Scholastic Book Warehouse sale in December.
I found Noah a football book that he wouldn't put down!
Enough already, Noah!
I was happy he liked it so much.

A bicycle pump and a security system.

A family calendar and paints.

May the force be with SHOE.... The Ohio State University.

We took a little walk outside.
Noah noticed two deer over the hill; one had nestled down on the side of the hill
for the night; the other was grazing.
We walked almost parallel to them.
The sleeping deer stood up. "What are you doing?" he said.
We walked back to the house.

Noah helped me light the luminaries. The rain and wind have forced me to
put them away.

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year to you!

A Present in the Mail

A present. We got a present in the mail!
From Christine and Bob.

"A tasty collection of some of the favorite holiday treats.
So delicious you won't want to stuff this away in a stocking.
Probably won't fit anyway."

Cheddar cheese, pfeffernussse spice cookies, stollen, spiced pecans,
a hot cocoa cake (This won't be shared!), a Zang candy bar
and spicy cashews with lime leaves.

A treat, indeed!

Thank you, Christine and Bob!

Niederman Family Farm

Tuesday evening we drove up to see the Christmas lights at Niederman Family Farm.
The weather was warm. We arrived before the lights were on.

The lights along the western edge.

After hot chocolate and several cookies, we walked to the barn to see the animals.

A llama. "What are you doing in my barn?"

We walked over to the 'hen house.' The chickens, ducks and turkeys
were all enjoying the warm outside weather.

Merry Christmas

                                                                                                            I
 am thinking
of you today
because it is Christmas
and I wish
you happiness and
tomorrow because it
will be the day after
Christmas,
I shall still wish
 you happiness and so
on clear through the
year.

Lebanon Carriage Parade

The weather was foggy and cold this morning.
There were more people at this year's Carriage Parade than I remember.
Here we are, standing on Cherry Street, east of Main Street;
the back side of the route.

Cinderella in her carriage.

 Percherons.

Miniature horses pulling a wagon.

Slim and Sally pulling Morris Van Gordon's wagon.

The wagon from Gorman Heritage Farms.

A Kroger wagon.

Santa. Where are the elves?

The beautiful Clydesdales.

Last of all, the four horse hitch fire pumper wagon.

Even tho the sun was shining,
the temperature was still in the upper 30's/lower 40's.
