Thanksgiving
Apple, minced meat and pumpkin pies baked
and ready for Thanksgiving dinner.
Also a loaf of zucchini bread and dill and sweet pickles.
And a box of Clementine oranges.
We drove to Louisville for Thanksgiving with the Grandchildren,
their parents, grandparents, a great aunt and uncle from Iowa,
a cousin and her parents, and a great-grandmother.
After a relaxing dinner of turkey,
sweet and mashed potatoes with gravy,
green beans, creamed peas and fresh corn frozen last summer in Iowa,
regular and oyster stuffing (yes, I tried the oyster stuffing),
strained and chunky cranberry sauce and
rolls and zucchini bread,
Miss El and Great Aunt Dinee constructed a
gingerbread house.
(Is that a piece of candy in your hand, Miss El?)
Great Aunt Dinee and Great Uncle Bruce brought early
Christmas presents for the children.
Star Wars lights and money.
Thank you!

I forgot to mention that Noah has his left leg in a cast
from above his knee to his toes. From an injury
sustained when he jumped from a trampoline to
a stationery ledge and lost his balance.
Not an old fashioned plaster cast, but a
more modern walking cast. With a shoe.
And just for four weeks.
Noah, explaining a card trick to his Great Grandmother.
Noah taught his grandmothers a different card trick.
We practiced and practiced.
"No, Grandma," Noah says to me.
"You are being sloppy. That's why it doesn't work."
Later, I took a walk with the grandchildren's parents.
On our way back, we met a man, his wife and three dogs.
The great danes are rescue dogs.
The male has been with them longer than the female.
He is more socialized; she, not so much.
They were some lovable dogs!

We returned for apple and pumpkin pie.
With Cool Whip, vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
Kaitlyn organized a game of Apples to Apples.
I had six winning cards; seven, and the game would be finished.
Kaitlyn's turn. Her dad had the best card. Did she call it?
No. She was afraid it might be Grandma's card and
the game would end.
Wasn't Grandma's card that time!

Museum Birthday Trip
Did I mention that last year, five inches of snow fell on my birthday?
The trees appear to still have leaves.
This year the sky was overcast, spitty rain fell.
Temperatures were in the upper 50's.
We went to the Museum Center.
This train set was built by the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Lego Users Group.
We had seen a similar display at Lakota West in October.
The same lay-out from a different view.
An overview of Holiday Junction.
There were just a hand full of people at the Museum.
Birthday flowers from Christine and Bob
came while we were out.
All in all, a nice birthday!

"Wishing you sunshine and love..."
We met the "little people"
and their parents
for lunch
at a Mexican restaurant
in Carrollton.
Where are you, Little Miss El?
Kaitlyn signed copies of her book, "Moonlit Path" (Wolves of Willow Sight).
Presents and birthday cards!
And a current picture for my 'Grandma' picture frame.
A birthday card from Ellie and one from Noah!
And, Kaitlyn? Well, hers will be in the mail...
Yes. I have sunshine and love.
Every day.
