All enjoyed a tasty buffet.
Lasagna, ham, rolls, assorted salads.
Bunny cake and a pumpkin pie for desert.

Happy Easter to you!

April Snow

We woke this morning to .6 of an inch of snow!
The first time in recorded history that measurable snow fell on April 15.

The Bradford pear trees in the backyard.
Are those blossoms or snow?

Officially, the snow total for this area for the 2013/2014 winter is 47.5 inches.
We are now in second place for accumulated snow fall.
The winter of 1977/1978 recorded an accumulation of 53.9 inches of snow.

Ah! So maybe it was the blossoms.
Notice the remaining snow on the north side of the trunks.

The spiraea is covered with snow.
The irises seem oblivious.

We have a couple of days of chilly weather before more
seasonable temperatures return.

Spring Flowers

We walked out back to see the flowers.
The blue flowers are near the snow flowers.
Last year at this time, K.K. found Sydney the snake near the daffodils.
I continue to look for Sydney.

We rode our bikes for the first time today.
We were on a bike trail that parallels the Great Miami River.
Remember all the rain that we have had?

The Great Miami River was quite high!
Further up the path, a large pond crossed the path!

We had a short ride.
Tomorrow!

Great Wolf Lodge

The not-so-little people had Spring Break.
They brought their mother up for an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge.
I was invited to stay with them.

There was a long line at the registration desk.
An employee handed out bands to admit registered families to the indoor water park.
The children and I headed down to the fun.

We started out in the 'wave pool',
but were soon swimming in the Lazy River.
With tubes and without tubes.

Next to the 'wave pool' were the basketball hoops.

And, of course, the 'Hot Springs'.

All five of us went on the 'family ride.'
At the end of the 'family ride,' Little Miss El jumped up and said,
"That was awesome!"

We had snacks in our room before returning
for more fun.

Miss El and Noah decided to share the top bunk
when it was time for bed.

The next morning we indulged in the breakfast buffet.
The gift shop was toured/purchases were made.
Then we returned for more fun!

A ride on the 'Water Coaster' was on the list for today.

I, myself, was taking pictures.
I heard a shout from above, "Grandma!"

The 'Family Ride' comes out on the left;
the 'Water Coaster' on the right.

Look at those smiles after the 'water coaster' ride!

Miss El enjoying the 'family ride.'

Miss El enjoyed the challenge of the 'lily pads.'
Noah had fun, too.

An ice-cream break. Ummmm....
Then back for more fun.

Outside the 'Lazy River.'
We will have to go to GWL another time!
