Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA)

The 25th annual Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure began at the
Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana.

Supplies and bikes for the week long adventure are loaded in the truck.
We are ready to go!

We arrived at the Fairgrounds a little early.
Here comes the truck that will carry Team Bob's gear!
With a little help from Ron and Larry.

The highlights of Saturday evening include a festive parade from
the fairgrounds through downtown Urbana.

Here are some of the participants.

Deborah had the honor of wearing #25.
She is part of Team Bob.
She is heading toward the beginning of the parade.

Sunday's route took us west to Troy. Rain had fallen before we got up;
 there was a drizzle as we rode west toward Troy, our overnight stay on Sunday.
The temperatures were in the upper 60's.
Bikers rode on the bike trail as we got closer to Troy.
The bike trail took us across a wooden bridge.
The wooden bridge was wet and slippery.
I lost control of my bike and down I went!
I have two broken bones in my left pelvis; the bones that folks who have
osteoarthritis break when they fall - ramus pubis.
Not much I can do; the drugs make me sleep, the pain makes me stay in
a zero gravity chair.

The two large bouquets on the left are from our daughters;
the bouquet on the right is from Team Bob;
the bouquet of lavender and pink hydrangeas are
from a neighbor across the street.
The card from Team Bob says,
 "Martha, we miss you. We kind of miss John too.
Be back next year!"
