Hamilton's IceFest
The theme of Hamilton's Ice Fest was 'World Landmarks.'
Ohio State University's stadium is featured in the picture.

Temperatures were nearing fifty degrees as visitors enjoyed viewing the sculptures.
The sun was shining.
The sculptures were melting.
A 1950's Chevrolet was among the 75 sculptures.
The Washington Monument and Cincinnati's Union Terminal.
Mount Rushmore and Big Ben.
The copy of Big Ben is carved from more than 1,000 pounds of ice.

The ice sculptures are illuminated Friday evening during the Ice Walk.
Ten ice sculptors used chain saws, die grinders, chisels, sanders and
knives to create the sculptures. Ice is forgiving, the sculptors say.
Accidentally lop off a nose?
Heat the ice to create a slushy edge and bolt on a slab of new ice!
You're good to go.
Children were dashing to sit in the throne.
The area behind the throne had assorted children's activities.
Hamilton is known as the 'City of Sculpture.'
This eclectic bench gave visitors an excuse to sit and rest.
The Soldiers, Sailors, and Pioneers Monument built
near the center of Fort Hamilton.
The monument was promoted by Civil War veterans.
Created by Roudolph Theim, titled "Victory," this statue represents a
Civil War private "Billy Yank" raising his cap in celebration of victory.
"Billy Yank" is atop the Soldiers, Sailors, and Pioneers Monument.
Niagra Falls outside the Administration Building.
Inside the Administration Building was a train display.

The works the sculptors create will soften after a period of hours, details will fade.
Within a day, they'll melt away - especially with temperatures in the upper 40's.

January Snow
Seven inches of snow!
More snow in one day, December 26, than the 5.6 inches
of snow that fell all last winter.
Average yearly snowfall is +/- 22 inches.
A winter wonderland.
Flurries have fallen, temperatures remain below the freezing mark.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the high temperature is to be 24 degrees.

An unusually warm winter followed by a hot spring and summer
turned 2012 into one of the hottest years on record;
the fifth-warmest year on record for this area
according to the National Weather Service.
The rainfall for 2012 remained four inches below the normal.
