The Museum Center

We took a little trip to the Museum Center to see the Omnimax film, "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk".
River-advocate, Robert Kennedy, Jr., and author/anthropologist/explorer, Wade Davis led an expedition along part of the Colorado River.
The group did some serious white-water rafting along the river... or it is, 'white-knuckle' rafting?

The Museum Center was jam-packed with visitors!

Afterwards, we pressed through the throngs of visitors to see Holiday Junction. This is the 15th year for the train displays in Holiday Junction. The displays were expanded for the 75th anniversary of Union Terminal. Nice, but very, very crowded!
We stopped at Outback Steakhouse on the way home for a tasty anniversary dinner of steak and ribs.
Yumm, yumm!

We would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy new year!

Watch for the Cincinnati Bearcats in tomorrow evenings BCS Orange Bowl!
Go Bearcats!

Christmas Day

The little people and their parents came to share Christmas Day with us.

It was Noah's turn to distribute the presents.

The children brought their presents from Santa to show us. Noah is wearing his Cardinals' football pants.

Everyone has a present... Let the unwrapping begin!

Assorted gifts from General Mills...

Grandpa and little Miss Ellie.

What a nice Christmas!

I am thinking of you...

I
am thinking
of you today
because it is Christmas
and I wish
you happiness and
tomorrow because it
will be the day after
Christmas,
I shall still wish
you happiness and so
on clear through the
year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!

Presents from Christine and Bob

The FedEx delivery man dashed between the rain drops to place this package on the front porch.

What could it be?

Bagels (sesame seed, poppy seed and plain), salmon and cream cheese spread, special blend coffee and cinnamon rugelach from Zabar's of New York City.
I don't think I can wait!
Ummm, ummm ummm!
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

'It's beginning to look like Christmas'...

Yesterday's temperature reached 60 degrees with intermittent sun. We dashed outside to enjoy the warmer temperatures and complete some warm weather tasks, knowing that the temperature would soon be dropping!

When we came back inside, what did we find?

What is that under the tree? What is that beside the tree?

Presents for us?
And, not even Christmas?

A Caterpillar train set!
And warm enough in the sun room to set it up! What could be better?
I know, some Christmas music.

My brothers and I made a little foray upon the 'white settlement' this summer. I got elected to keep the dollhouse.
One brother graciously collapsed the doll house, the other brother graciously 'stored' the collapsed doll house in the trunk of his car until recently...

The doll house will create a new 'venue' for two of the grandchildren.

Snow and Cold Temperatures

Last weekend, we had a dusting of snow. We took a walk out back to see if any of the hanging tree limbs had been blown down.

The walk was clean when we started our walk...

We have had some cold days with temperatures staying right around the freezing mark; no sun, so the temperatures seem colder than they really are. The temperature is to reach 50 degrees Sunday. With sun. We'll see...

An experiment...

This is an experiment with my new camera. Click on the button (lower left side) to see little Miss Ellie in action.
Miss Ellie has an audience: one member of the audience is 'boxing' with her as she waves her small arms.
Can you guess who was in the audience?
