My assignment: to crochet a 'delightful ripple' baby blanket using primary and secondary colors. Notice the pink at one end for a baby girl, and blue at the other end for a baby boy. Will Kaitlyn and Noah have a baby sister or a baby brother? Stay tuned...
What nice birthday cards! Along with some 'birthday treats' from the children.
We had a nice dinner at Golden Corral. After the singing of 'happy birthday', accompanied by K.K. on the piano, the candles were blown out. Happy Birthday to You! Not everyone gets to have a birthday pumpkin pie!
Noah, carefully opening his basket; K.K. sorting her items. In her hand is a present for her father. What could it be?
K.K. and Noah, dressed in their Easter outfits! Don't they look nice? Yes, and Noah needs a pair of socks. :-)
And, let the Easter egg hunt begin!
...with a little help from Uncle Curt.
The children, and adults, are ready to eat a delicious meal of ham, turkey, potato salad, sweet potatoes, asparagus and assorted vegetables. Yum, yum!
Playing quietly. This just might be the best Easter ever! Hope you and your family had an enjoyable Easter, too!
Go West Virginia!
Billed as a mega-attraction featuring miniature trains, EnterTrainment Junction is expected to open by early summer. EnterTrainment Junction offers one of the largest indoor train displays in the world, plus a 5,000 square foot children's play area, railroad museum and train expo center. The 25,000 square foot train journey is separated into three historical eras: Early (1830's to 1890's), Middle (1900 to 1950's) and the Modern (1960's to present). Volunteer train lovers are helping complete thousands of hours of detail work. Two men that we know have spent their share of time volunteering! Come visit the new EnterTrainment Junction with us!
We had 10.7 inches of snow - that melted, pretty much. Then we had 4.9 inches of rain in two days! We are now seven inches above the normal amount of precipitation for this time of the year. Yikes!
The Golden Flashes easily secure NCAA berth! Kent State crowned a dominant conference season by beating bitter rival Akron University 74 - 55 in the Mid-American Tournament championship Saturday night to reserve a slot in the NCAA brackets.
Go Golden Flashes! Fun Fact: Television's Drew Carey was expelled twice from Kent State for poor academic performance.
We took a muddy walk out in the back. We saw birds' nests, 'spring' flowers, deer tracks; we smelled and saw a dead skunk; we picked up golf balls. We saw daffodils and jonquils coming up. Some of us with sharper eyes, found a white-tail deer antler. We looked for the other one with little luck. From the World Book Encyclopedia: Deer are the only animals with bones called antlers on their heads. Antlers are true bones, unlike horns, which are stong, hard layers of skin.
The new IKEA , the Swedish furniture retailer, has opened in Butler County, the first IKEA in Ohio. Ten thousand additional vehicles are expected in the area daily. Folks camped out 48 hours before the grand opening Wednesday, March 12, to be the first ones in the store. The first 100 people in the store received a 'special'chair and gift certificates worth between $25 and $250. We figure we'll go, maybe, at the end of April.
The new car came for a visit - right from the dealers. The loaded 2007 Saturn Outlook brought the 'little people' and their parents for an overnight stay.
The 'little people' like the new car because they can watch videos... Mom and Dad like to play with the navigation system.
